Dogs 'R' Us

What can I say?! Our dogs! We love 'em! Join us for a little introduction to our beloved beasts. They are all different, yet all the same. They have been with us for several years and are part of our family.

Brindi Boop

Brindi, is a mixed something. Once again, another "free" dog. We acquired her from the Jefferson County Humane Society. She was one and a half years old when we got her. I passed her up at first, because she looked like one of those "mean dogs". I looked at all the other dogs and then looked at her again. We noticed she hadn't a speck of meaness in her, just spastic affection. Brindi had about ten days left at the JCHS. She had been sponsored for a year there and time was running out. We adopted her and brought her home for the Christmas break. She settled right in. She was completely house trained even after being at the shelter for a year. At 39 pounds, Brindi is high energy fun. Her favorite pastime is the hose and water. We had to put the hoses in "hose houses" or she would have them yanked off the faucets. I gave her an old hose to drag around the yard, which she does at top speed. Water from the hose sends her into fits. She bites the water, jumps at it, and runs back and forth thru it.

Rufus

Also known as Ruffles, the Easter Bunny, Snowball, and our baby Polar Bear. Didn't want a male, didn't want a larger dog. And once again...he's the best. He was given to us by a friend who no longer could keep him. At first I said I didn't want anything to do with a bulldog. But he is an American Bulldog/mix and they are not hostile dogs. It is true! This is one sweet dog. You can even see it in his picture. He gets in every stranger's car that comes over. He wants to snug right up to everyone's legs. He is downright pesty with love. Loves to run with a bicycle. No one could remember exactly how old Rufus was except he is near 4 years old, so we gave him a birthday of July 4th, 2004. Rufus is a good companion for Brindi.
